Jan 20: A memorable day in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

In the morning our team of Jane (HK Voice for Prisoners), Samuel (Addis journalist) and I went to the Provincial House (not far from our hotel) of the Daughters of Saint Anne who serve the needy in 40 different centres in Ethiopia. The sisters very kindly made an appointment for us to meet Cardinal Berhaneyesus in the afternoon

The cardinal was most welcoming and is going to support our work of trying to stop drug mules going to HK, especially by the tightening of security at Addis airport. 

To support our meeting with the cardinal, Cardinal Stephen Chow in HK very kindly made a W/App call and had a video chat with Cardinal Berhaneyesus! Can you see Cardinal Stephen's image in the following photo? God bless the two cardinals! 

The two cardinals know each other well after being in Rome last October for a month-long meeting

And Samuel is a past student of the cathedral school next to Cardinal Berhaneyesus' office! 

Cardinal Berhaneyesus not only arranged two other important meetings for us, but also encouraged us to visit the not-far-away Missionaries of Charity Centre ... which we immediately did:

One of the sisters, a sister from Spain, is a trained doctor. God bless the more than 600 needy people at the centre!
