Photos from Lesotho:

January
14, 2017 - at Hlotse, Northern Losotho
Two
Oblates who work in prisons - myself and Fr Tanki O.M.I. who is the only
Catholic chaplain for all 5 prisons in Maseru, the capital of
Lesotho!
And as we were having a drop of Losotho Mountain brew, Fr Tanki noticed a very
special person - Chief Bereng Seeiso, younger brother of the King of Lesotho
...who speaks Chinese after studying in Beijing for more than a year back in the
late 1980's!
Below - views on the drive back to Maseru from Hlotse:
Back in Maseru: the Mazenod Centre where I'm staying is located on a large
farm-like property which includes a cemetery where about 100 Oblates are buried:
And the name of the district in which the Mazenod Centre is located?

Sunday January 15, 2017 - in Maseru, capital of Lesotho
I can't remember ever seeing in any country a billboard of the
country's bishops'. Even more extraordinary: three of the four bishops of
Lesotho (all but the one second from left) are Oblates!!!
A little supermarket near the Mazenod Centre where I am staying
is managed by a Chinese couple from Shanghai ....who are friends with the
Oblates at Mazenod .....they came looking for the foreigner who spoke Chinese
when he bought a can of mosquito spray!
