April 5,  2009.
This morning at 9.45 am, as she was being remembered at Palm Sunday Mass at St Alfred's in Shatin,
Maria left Queen Elizabeth Hospital to join the children in Heaven
who are always singing Hosanna in the presence of the Messiah.
Sincere sympathy to her dear parents.
Many thanks to so many people around the world who have been praying for her

2009-02-25  Maria,    born  September 8, 2008

Prayers please for 5 month old Maria,  fighting for her life in HK's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Her lungs are unable to function as a result of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and she is suffocating.
Doctors have told parents "to prepare".
Maria also suffers from
hypotonia, also known as "floppy infant syndrome" or "infantile hypotonia."
Infants who suffer from hypotonia are often described as feeling and appearing as though they are "rag dolls," a "sack of jelly" or a "pillow full of pudding," easily slipping through one's hands

I visited Maria this morning - after her father saw me (wearing my Cross) on the street, introduced himself  and asked for help

2009-02-26 update:

Last night  Maria had  a good sleep....best sleep for a long time....condition has improved considerably. DG!
But still critical - please keep the prayers going...each little prayer puts a bit more spiritual energy into Maria's heavenly bank account.

2009-02-27 update:

Baby battling on, but parents have signed form with hospital, (at hospital's request?)
agreeing "no need for doctors to resuscitate baby if baby stops breathing".
Only a miracle can save her now.
Let's keep praying!

2009-02-28 update:

Maria again had really good sleep last night
....and saliva/spittle coming from mouth has decreased
 (...meaning lungs  less congested DV).
Please pray especially for healing of Maria's family tree
...maybe Maria's condition is linked to fact that some deceased person(s) " may not yet be at peace"

2009-03-02

Maria continuing to battle on...
continuing to sleep well....

Please keep the prayers going!

2009-03-03

Doctor yesterday:  Maria's condition has stabilized over the past few days
(contrasting with a deteriorating condition in middle of last week).
But doctor not in any way optimistic about Maria's chances of survival.
Also yesterday:  after bath time, Maria was left off breathing machine for two hours....no problem DG!
Next target: two or more hours each day DV

2009-03-04

Maria: two hours off machine yesterday morning, one hour yesterday afternoon.  DG!

But in same ward, two babies in even more serious situation with failing lungs.  One has never left the hospital
since being born there 12 months ago... and is literally gasping and shaking the whole time... a most distressing sight.
Doctors no solution.  Prayer the only hope.  Thank you for prayers

Maria continues to battle on.....lungs still having flem problem.
Beautiful smiles as she just lies there.
Please focus prayers on her family tree ....
maybe a number of family tree members  "not yet at peace".
No breakthrough possible  until such people have peace.
Buddhist monk friend of family has given same advice: pray for family tree peace

2009-03-25

Maria now in new ward....same room as other baby mentioned in update of 2009-03-18....plus two other babies
in serious conditions....three boys and Maria....one of the boys from a Nepalese family.
Please pray for all four each day.
Please pray especially for their family trees,
for peace to all deceased members of their family trees.  Thank you
